1942 Dated British Army Knife by Richards of Sheffield
click for an even bigger image

A nice example of the Pattern 6353 British Army knife that was first introduced in 1905. This example was made by Richards of Sheffield in 1942 and it is so marked, along with the broad arrow stamp. The knife features three components: a knife blade; a can opener; and a marlin spike for rope work. The knife blade is a bit stiff, and protrudes just a bit from the grip when it is in the closed position. This would probably be corrected with a little oil. The grip is checkered black Bakelite. Overall very good condition.
