WWII Army Aviation Squadron Fob
A silver fob, approximately 3/4 of an inch wide and 1 1/4 inches long. The obverse is the design of the Japanese Army pilot's badge. The reverse reads "Joining the Squadron Commemoration". The badge was likely presented by an army squadron to a Japanese Army aviation trainee who had successfully qualified as a full military pilot and who was newly assigned to that squadron. There is a small cartouche beneath the presentation kanji which reads "Respectfully made by Jihodo". The "Jihodo" firm is a jewelry & watch company in Japan in the present day, and it may well be the same company that produced this presentation fob in the World War II period.
