WWII Eickhorn Kriegsmarine Officer Dagger with Portepee
A very fine example of the World War II dagger of an officer of the German Navy of the Third Reich. The blade is manufacturer marked by the Eickhorn firm. The blade features the etched design of a fouled anchor on each side. The blade is in excellent condition, with a few spots towrds the tip on one side, and some barely perceptible spots to the edge of the blade on the opposite side. The celluloid grip is cream colored with a few spots on the back side but without chips or cracks. The gilt finish to the eagle pommel, crossguard, and scabbard is largely intact. The scabbard features the lighting bolts design. There is a small shallow dent on the scabbard. The dagger is wrapped with its original portepee, tied in the distinctive reefer knot and shows some wear at the crossguard. Overall the dagger is in very fine condition.
