Vietnam Theater Made French Paratrooper Wings

On Hold

A very interesting set of French airborne paratrooper wings, apparently theater made, in which the wings were fitted with a large safety pin on crimped retainers rather than the standard French system of open lugs through which a suspension bar was inserted. Additionally, the spaces between the shroud lines were carefully painted with a black enamel paint to provide dramatic contrast. The gilt finish to the leaves is a bit worn. The wings were most likely made in Vietnam during the Indochina conflict.
