WWII Signed Silk Factory Send-Off Hinomaru Flag
The flag is approximately 28 by 34 inches, with two leather reinforced corners with string ties. The flag carries the declaration of "Prayers for Eternal Good Fortune on the Battlefield". The writing on the flag indicates that it was presented to Mr. Yukio Obama, and the flag has the designations of a factory bearing the name "Nakajima" and of a patriotic society. The flag is extensively signed, presumably by Mr. Obama's fellow workers at the factory or by members of the patriotic society, or both. There is a stamped red seal of the patriotic society with the signature of Iwasa Tomeichi, who was likely the chairman of the society. The flag has typical light spots but it has bright colors, a striking appearance, and it is without tears or holes. It is in overall excellent condition.
