Tropical Army Panzer Grenadier Overseas Cap
The cap is constructed of ribbed olive cotton material lined with a red cotton fabric. The front of the cap carries a national eagle in light blue thread on a tan base as used on tropical caps. The eagle is correctly hand sewn to the cap peal. Below the eagle is a machine woven national cockade that is correctly machine sewn to the cap. The cockade is flanked by a branch of service soutache in bright green for panzer grenadier troops. The soutache is correctly machine sewn to the cap with the lower ends tucked through holes punches into the front flap. Each side of the cap top has a ventilation grommet, painted in tan enamel paint. The interior of the cap is manufacturer marked by Clemens Wagner, dated 1942, and stamped as a size 56. The cap is in excellent condition and shows little sign of actual wear or use.
