Clean 1917 Enfield Rifle Bayonet by Remington
click for an even bigger image

The bayonet was used on both the 30/06 caliber U.S. Rifle Model of 1917 (which was nearly identical to the British Enfield rifle) as well as the combat shotgun. The pommel, crosspiece, and ricasso are blued, with the blueing largely intact. The wood grip plates show carrying wear but are free of chips or cracks. The ricasso is dated 1917 and is marked by Remington as the manufacturer as well as with the Army ordnance bomb. The bayonet is within its original leather scabbard with attached khaki web frog. The leather of the scabbard shows age but it is complete and intact, without tears or breaks.
