Silk WWII Japanese City of Yokohama Navy Support Flag
click for an even bigger image

A fine silk flag in excellent condition. The flag depicts crossed Japanese flags over an anchor. Above the flags in Japanese is the kanji for "Brave Loyalty". Near the lower hoist edge is kanji which reads: "Yokohama City Dispatched Military Support Association", an organization that was created by at least 1937. Approximately 27 1/2 by 33 1/2 inches in size. Two corners have leather reinforcements with string ties. Interestingly, the upper corner has also had a tie attached to it, presumably so that the flag could be displayed in a horizontal manner.
