The exterior blue gray paint is approximately 80% intact. The national colors shield was removed in accordance with wartime regulations, but traces of the decal and its outline remain quite visible. The Luftwaffe eagle decal is approximately 70% intact with the visible remains of another decal underneath. The helmet is complete with the liner and chin strap. The liner is stamped as a size 57 and is soft and pliable. The chin strap is intact. The helmet interior is stamped "ET64", indicating a size 64 shell manufactured by the firm of Eisenhuttenwerke in Thale. There is a name written in the rear skirt of the helmet: "Fw. Weiss". The "Fw." is almost certainly the owner's rank of "Feldwebel", or Staff Sergeant. Very good field used condition.
