The helmet is painted in the matte blue-gray of the Luftwaffe and its associated civil units. The exterior helmet paint is approximately 85% intact, with multiple small spots of surface rust. The front of the helmet displays the Luftschutz decal, which is about 90% intact. The helmet has the three pad civil liner system. The full chin strap is present. The interior rim is stamped "ET64", indicating a size 64 shell manufactured by Eisenhuttenwerke in Thale. There is a name written in German script in the rear visor.
