Near Mint Unissued 1942 German Army Pith Helmet
click for an even bigger image

The WWII German Army sun helmet worn by troops in tropical and desert climates. The helmet appears to have never been issued or worn. There are a few spots on the exterior wool body, none of which are particularly distracting, and which likely resulted from the helmet having been stacked with others on top of it. There is some minor spotting on the national colors shield. The leather edge trim is complete and without breaks or nicks. The full chin strap is present and complete. The interior liner is bright ant without any indications that the helmet was ever worn. The sweatband is maker marked and, on the underside of the sweatband, the date of 1942 appears together with the size of 56. Overall excellent to near unissued condition.
