Irish Army "Caubeen" Beret
click for an even bigger image

The "Caubeen" is the traditional beret style cap that is worn by some units of the Army of the Republic of Ireland as well as by Irish units in the British Army, such as the Royal Irish Rangers. This example is one of those worn by units of the Army of the Republic of Ireland. It is green ribbed wool with a black wool cap band. There are two enamel grommets in the crown to hold a regimental cap badge. The interior shows wear and use, and there are a few stitches missing in the leather cap band. The manufacturer label remains intact. Overall excellent used condition.
