Named Unit Marked Camouflage M16 German Combat Helmet
A Model 1916 German combat helmet that was painted in a camouflage pattern in accordance with the 1918 order from the German High Command. The camouflage is worked in small geometric blocks of dark red, light green, beige, and the original field gray color, with the blocks divided by black lines. The interior of the rear skirt has the original owner's name and unit written on the rim, which appears to be a machine gun unit. The helmet is lacking the liner and chin strap, and there are spots of interior and exterior rust, but the helmet is a very impressive piece of headgear.
