DESCRIPTION

A fine example of a World War II 8th Air Force pilot's Ike jacket that was tailored in London during the war. The wool jacket is a small size, with bullion pilot wings on a combat crew blue wool backing; embroidered wool 8th Air Force shoulder patch; Army Air Force officer collar insignia and 1st Lieutenant rank insignia; and a clutch back ribbon bar with ribbons for the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal, and the Purple Heart. The jacket has a few minor "pulls" in the fabric but overall it is in excellent condition.
