A trio of Italian medals for World War I service, with the ribbons stitched together as a set, the medals consisting of the Italian World War I Merit Cross; the Italian World War I victory Medal; and the rare Italian Red Cross Service Medal struck by the medal firm of Stefano Johnson in 1919, silver with a large enamel red cross (on this medal see: "The Commemorative and Benemerent Medals Issued by the Central Committee and Peripheral Units of the Italian Red Cross" by Alessio Ernesto, 1998; and "Italian Medalists and Engravers from the 15th to the 19th Centuries", by Vittorio Lorioli, 1993). The ribbon of the Red Cross medal is partially torn but remains intact.
