Painted 28th Division M1917 Combat Helmet
click for an even bigger image

The exterior paint is approximately 75% intact, with what appears to be a stain of some kind on the top of the helmet. There is a large painted insignia of the 28th Division on the side of the helmet. The liner is present though a bit loose due to the fact that one of the two leather straps that hold the liner to the crown is broken. The chin strap is also present but, again, it has broken where it attaches to one of the internal bales.
