Named Air Transport Command Khaki Cap
click for an even bigger image

A khaki officer's cap with the cap carrying the badge of the Air Transport Command on the front peak, and with the leather chin strap secured by "ATC" side buttons on each side. The wire stiffener was removed from the crown of the cap to allow headphones to be worn over the cap in the cockpit and creating a "crushed" look for the cap. The exterior of the khaki top has spots and stains that reflect its use in the cockpit and in the theater of combat operations, but it is complete and intact. There is a size "7" tag beneath the sweatband in the interior of the cap. The sweatband has lost some stitching where it is secured to the body of the cap but it remains complete. There is a name written on the underside of the visor which appears to be "M.L. Lacer". This is a cap with tremendous character and an absolutely "been there" look to it.
