Third Reich Army Officer Sword
The crossguard features an open winged eagle of the style worn on the army uniform. The backstrap ferrule, and knuckle guard have a decorative relief oak , leaf design. There is no discernible manufacturer mark on the ricasso. The red felt washer remains in place above the ricasso. The plated blade is approximately 31 inches long with the sword having an overall length of 36 inches. There are spots of rust and speckling of the plating along the length of the blade. The black scabbard paint is approximately 80% intact. The scabbard has a few dents near the base but do not impede the ability of the sword to enter and exit the scabbard.
