Engraved German Army Dress Baynet by Holler
A single sided engraved dress K98 bayonet by the firm of Holler, with the thermometer trademark on the ricasso. The plated blade has a superb engraving on one side that displays the dedication of "In Memory of My Service Time" above a scene that features a machine gunner, an anti-tank gun crew, and an advancing tank. The blade is in excellent condition. The red wool insert remains in the rifle slot. The plating on the pommel and guard show speckling and some lifting. The black paint on the scabbard is largely intact. The black patent leather scabbard has creases in the leather and scuffing on the edges but it is complete and supple. The original bayonet troddel remains tied around the frog. The colors of the troddel indicate that the original owner of the bayonet was a member of his regiment's 2nd Company. Overall very good used condition.
