Third Reich Long Police Bayonet by Clemen & Jung
Third Reich period long Police bayonet with an uncut blade of approximately 13 1/3 inches. The reverse ricasso is marked with the logo of Clemen & Jung, a crown over a shield containing the letter "Z". The blade is generally quite bright, with just two spots on the edges of one side where the plating is gone and scattered scratches. The reverse of the scabbard throat is marked "L. Mg. 71", indicating that the bayonet was the property of the Landjgerei of Magdeburg, bearing property number 71. The antler grips are a dark golden brown in color and are without cracks or chips. The police grip eagle is the aluminum variety and it shows very good detail. The bayonet is within its brown leather scabbard which shows wear but which is complete and intact. Overall very good condition.
