Vintage WWII Era Japanese Newsboy Wool Cap
click for an even bigger image

The "newsboy" style cap was an extremely popular piece of civilian headgear in Japan prior to and during the Second World War. This cap is "new old stock", manufactured in the 1930's and never worn. It is a patterned wool in white, black, and brown with an artificial silk lining. The stated size based on an interior tag is 6 7/8. The lining is stamped with the "Mitsuma" brand logo. The cap still has its original protective tissue paper on the interior. A very interesting piece of vintage Japanese civilian headgear from the period of the war, over 75 years old and as clean and striking as the day that it was made.
