WWII Navy/Marine Corps NAF 1092W Leather Flight Helmet

The winter, shearling lined, version of the Naval Aircraft Factory ("NAF") Model 1092 flight helmet used by Navy and Marine Corps aviators during the war. This example shows use and some flaking of the exterior leather surface, but remains in very good used condition. Interestingly, the acronym "NASAC" is stenciled in yellow paint on one side of the helmet (possibly meaning "Naval Air Station Alameda California").
