An exceptionally clean example of a World War I Marine Corps tunic for a Corporal of the machine gun company of the 6th Marine Regiment. The tunic has an interior Marine Corps Quartermaster stamp in the left sleeve and the name of "H. Venderver" written in the right sleeve. Both sleeves carry the rank stripes of a corporal. The left sleeve has a single gold service stripe and, on the shoulder, the multi-piece patch of the 6th Marine Regiment machine gun company in the 2nd Division, stitched on with "X" stitches. The collar has finished holes to take Marine Corps collar disks. The disks are not present but there is a single old screw back eagle, globe and anchor insignia on one side. The tunic is in overall excellent condition.
