Signed 1942 Photo of General Henry "Hap" Arnold
An 8 by 10 inch portrait photograph of General Henry "Hap" Arnold, Commander of the United States Army Air Forces in World War II. The photo clearly shows Arnold wearing Command Pilot wings, the ribbons for the Distinguished Flying Cross and the World War I Victory Medal, and the distinctive "Military Aviator" badge. The photograph is boldly inscribed to a Colonel and is signed "with best regards, H.H. Arnold, Chief Army Air Forces, 2/21/42". A splendid photograph signed during the war by one of the most prominent of America's military leaders. Arnold was promoted to the rank of a five star General of the Army in 1944, placing him placing him fourth in Army rank seniority behind Chief of Staff George C.Marshall, General Douglas MacArthur, and General Dwight Eisenhower.
