Unused condition. Referred to as the Kesenfuku, or "Final Battle" tunic, the jacket was distributed in 1945 in anticipation of the final battles for the Japanese home islands. The jacket reflects the economy measures which were required at that late stage of the war. The final model jacket was shortened to eliminate the longer skirt and lower pockets. This example has interior pockets but it lacks the attached bayonet suspension loop on the left side. The front has a five button closure. There are pockets on each side of the breast with flap covers, retained by buttons. Typically for the late war jacket, all of the front closure buttons are wood and the pocket flap buttons are thing painted metal. The tunic has an issue stamp on the interior which is dated 1945. The condition is near mint unissued.
