Japanese Hachimaki Rising Sun Headband
A traditional Japanese Hachimaki, or headband, with the rising sun on one side and printed with the declaration "Prayers for Continued Luck in the Fortunes of War". The reverse has kanji printed in blue which is the name of the "Broad Seas Commercial Company, Inc.", a manufacturer of transport ships during the war. The back of the headband shows some spots or stains that do actually have the look of spots of old blood. The headband overall has signs that it was actually used and worn but it is in excellent used condition. The headband is cotton, approximately 34 inches long and 13 inches wide, although it was folded lengthwise to be worn, at a width of about 5 inches wide.
