The dark blue wool tunic is in excellent condition, with just a few very tiny holes in the back which are barely perceptible. The collar displays gilt insignia for the Pennsylvania regiment. The lighter blue trousers, with white side stripes, are in good condition, exhibiting much more noticeable effects from moths but still presentable. The interior pocket of the tunic bears the label of the military clothier of Horstmann in Philadelphia. The label bears the name of "Lt. J.F. Knapp".
