Mint Unissued Korean War Era M4 Camillus Bayonet
click for an even bigger image

An example of the M4 bayonet by Camillus in virtually mint condition. The underside of the guard lacks the Ordnance Corps bomb and the leather grip lacks the plastic spaces at the top and bottom, both of these traits identifying the World War II production bayonet as opposed to the 1953 contract. Additionally, the pommel of this example has an "X" on it. The X on the pommel of the 1953 contract indicated manufacture by L.C. Smith on subcontract with Camillus. The bayonet is in all respects in virtually mint condition, with the only real signs of age being the green verdigris on the snaps of the web grip strap. The cloth scabbard tie downs are still wrapped and tied around the scabbard itself.
