The "Raggy Doodle" doll was made circa 1942 by Prager and Rueben of New York. This "Parachute Trooper" was sold at various locations, including military bases, with the name of the base stamped on the parachute. This example was sold at Fort Benning, Georgia, the site of the first airborne training course in the U.S. Army in 1940, and the location of the training facilities for American Airborne troops thereafter. The doll is approximately 6 1/2 inches tall. The parachute has some stains and a worn spot that is about 1 inch by 1 inch in size.
