1915 Prussian Cuirassier Regiment 3 Enlisted Helmet
An example of the distinctive steel helmet worn by an enlisted member of a Prussian Cuirassier cavalry regiment. The steel body exhibits a rather uniform coat of light surface rust. The spike is non-removable. The cockades and the chin strap are lacking. The leather liner is present with the drawstring, although two of the leather tongues are torn at the drawstring holes. The right side of the helmet bears the impressed designation "K.R. 3 1915", reflecting the helmet's manufacturing date of 1915 and its use by the 3rd (East Prussia) Cuirassier Regiment("Count Wrangel). The interior rear rim is stamped with the number "55".
