DESCRIPTION

The wooden handle is covered in ray skin and wrapped with green fabric in the traditional fashion. The standard military menuki of three cherry blossoms are beneath the wrap. The sword has a brown painted scabbard with the original paint approximately 95% intact. The gilt tsuba is is the solid style with cherry blossoms in relief. The blade is quite bright and clean. There is a single tiny "pock mark" on the blade that is far too small to be measured. There is no active rust, and the blade is without chips or nicks. Overall the blade is in very good to excellent condition. The mekugi, or retaining peg, in the grip is gone. The tang of the sword is plain unsigned.
