Named WWII Navy Aviation Mate Uniform Group
The World War II uniform group of a U.S. Navy Aviation Mate, with all pieces in the group named to "D.E. Klahold". The group is comprised of the following items:
- Wool enlisted jumper with a rate for aviation mate, 3rd class;
- Wool enlisted jumper with a rate for aviation mate, 2nd class;
- Wool seaman's bell bottom trousers with 13 front buttons;
- Navy issued suspenders;
- Khaki colored gaiters;
- White cotton "Dixie Cup" style enlisted cap.
The cap shows use and wear and, as noted, all of the pieces have Klahold's name, either written by hand or stamped. Research indicates that Donald Edward Klahold served in the Pacific theater as a member of the Navy's VPB-27(a Patrol Bomber Squadron). The uniform jumpers and pants are in excellent used condition.
