War Department military intelligence field manual FM 20-42, published by the War Department in June of 1941, for the purpose of providing identification of armored vehicles from various nations. Soft cover, 4 1/2 b 7 inches, 171 pages. Illustrated with photographs. Interestingly, at this early stage, the War Department did not have photographs of all of the armored vehicles covered by the manual. As a result, there are some gaps shown in the manual. This edition has sections for those vehicles, and space for the photos, but no actual photographs of those particular vehicles. The name of a lieutenant is written on the front cover, which also has his name stamp. There is a small penciled face on the cover as well as a penciled inventory number.
