1919 2nd Army Air Service History

An extremely interesting and very funny history of the 2nd Army Air Service. The volume is hardcover and was printed in France shortly after the end of the war. The pages are not numbered. 7 1/2 by 11 inches in size. There is a split of the binding down the spine of the front cover but this does not effect the structural integrity of the book. The pages have toned with age, but the book is completely intact and readable. This volume contains well written and engaging histories of all of the units that were a part of the Army Air Service in the 2nd Army. The book contains numerous photographs that depict areas of operations, aircraft, unit insignia, and uniforms. Beyond this, the book was written with immense wit, and it is filled with extremely humorous anecdotes, cartoons, songs, and even a number of examples of fake advertising (such as the one from the company "Chargem More" offering spiffy aviator uniforms at reduced prices after the end of the war. This has to be one of the most interesting, informative, and just plain funny unit histories to have come out of the Great War.
